It is time for us to put Nevada First.
If we follow these 10 common-sense ideas, Nevada will be a better place for everyone.
Join a local bank or credit union - local banks support local projects, keep our money circulating in our community.
Buy your meat and produce from local farmers and ranchers. Big tech, big pharma and even foreign countries are pushing our farmers and ranchers out.
They’re poisoning our food, contaminating our water, polluting our air, altering our weather, and even burning our islands, so support local farmers and ranchers.
This is our state and our home, so “let’s clean it up Nevada”. The trash in our city is out of control. I say, let’s worry less about windmills and solar fields instead, how about we just get people to throw trash in the trash cans. I suggest we even rehabilitate our states non-violent criminal offenders and beautify our communities in the process.
Donate to local non-profits, let’s keep our money helping the people in our own communities, and we can watch all the good that’s happening right before our eyes.
Defend our neighborhoods and communities, it all starts by defending our local police, and supporting our local firefighters, ambulance drivers, correction officers, dispatch, border patrol, and all of the other wonderful men and women working to make our community safer.
Establish neighborhood watch programs and work with local law enforcement to keep the peace, it’s our duty and responsibility to protect each other.
See something, say something. Be loud, be kind, be generous, but never ever accept a lie, that YOU know to be a lie, that’s how we got here in the first place.
We need Fair-Like-Minded-Leaders in our local and state governments; state legislators and senators, school boards, regents, even dog catchers.
Leave the federal circus alone, WASHINGTON DC IS BROKEN, we all know it, so get involved in local politics.
Spend your money in Local-Small-Businesses, they NEED it, big corporations don’t care about you, they just care about your money. 80% of our communities depend on these small businesses, and most of them are family owned. So, if you want to help our community, spend your money in a small-family-owned business, because there the rich tapestry that makes our country so amazing.
If you want a better way for you, your children, and our state, then vote for Dr. Jon Petrick for Assembly District 21, if you do I promise you, I WILL ALWAYS PUT YOU AND NEVADA FIRST.
Education is the backbone of our great nation. It is the key to unlocking the potential of our citizens, and the driving force behind a prosperous and thriving society. I am dedicated to ensuring that every student, no matter their background or circumstances, has access to a high-quality education that prepares them for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
Strengthening Local Control: Our communities know their students best. We must empower parents, teachers, and local school boards to make decisions that best serve their unique needs. By reducing federal overreach and bureaucracy, we can create an education system that is both flexible and responsive to the needs of our diverse student population.
Promoting School Choice: Every family should have the opportunity to choose the best educational path for their children. Whether that choice is a public, private, charter, or homeschool environment, we must create policies that support and encourage a variety of educational options that cater to individual student needs and interests.
Upholding High Standards: A strong education system requires rigorous standards that ensure our students are prepared to compete in the global marketplace. We must continue to set ambitious goals and hold our schools accountable to meet these objectives. By fostering a culture of excellence, we can ensure our students are ready to tackle the challenges of the future.
Encouraging STEM Education: Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics are the cornerstones of innovation and economic growth. We must invest in our students' STEM education to build a workforce that can drive our nation forward and maintain our competitive edge in these crucial fields.
Supporting Vocational and Technical Education: College is not the only pathway to success. We must recognize and invest in high-quality vocational and technical education programs that prepare students for a wide range of fulfilling and in-demand careers. By bridging the skills gap, we can strengthen our economy and create opportunities for all Americans.
Investing in Teachers: Our teachers are the backbone of our education system. We must provide them with the resources, training, and support they need to deliver the highest-quality education possible. This includes competitive salaries, professional development opportunities, and classroom resources.
Together, we can build an education system that serves all students, equips them with the skills they need to succeed, and sets our nation on a path to continued prosperity. It is my commitment to work tirelessly to enact these conservative principles and create a bright future for the next generation of Americans.
I firmly believe that parents should have the right to make informed decisions regarding their children's education, healthcare, and overall well-being. Upholding parental rights is crucial for maintaining strong families and promoting the values that make our community thrive. Here is my proposed plan to support and protect parents' rights in our district:
Promote school choice: I will advocate for policies that empower parents to choose the educational environment that best suits their children's needs, whether it be public, private, charter, or homeschooling. By providing families with more educational options, we can ensure that every child receives the best possible education tailored to their unique needs and circumstances.
Strengthen parental involvement in education: Parents play a critical role in their children's education and should have a say in the decisions that affect their children's academic experience. I will work to increase opportunities for parental involvement in local schools, including encouraging regular communication between parents and educators, and supporting the formation of parent-teacher organizations.
Safeguard parental rights in healthcare decisions: Parents must have the ability to make informed decisions regarding their children's healthcare. I will support policies that protect the rights of parents to make medical decisions for their children, while also ensuring that they have access to accurate and unbiased information to inform their choices.
Preserve family values: I will champion policies that uphold the importance of strong families, promote traditional values, and encourage a healthy family environment. This includes supporting measures that protect parental rights in areas such as discipline, religious upbringing, and family structure.
Encourage parental input in local government: I believe that parents have valuable insights and should have a voice in the decisions that impact their families and communities. I will work to ensure that parents have the opportunity to provide input on local policies and initiatives through public forums, town hall meetings, and other community engagement efforts.
Defend parental rights in the legal system: In cases where family law disputes arise, I will advocate for policies that prioritize the preservation of parental rights and promote the best interests of the child. This includes supporting measures that encourage fair and equitable outcomes in custody disputes and protecting the rights of parents in cases involving child welfare agencies.
By implementing this plan, we can work together to ensure that parents have the rights and resources they need to make the best decisions for their families. With your support, we can create a community that values strong families and promotes the well-being of every child in Nevada.
As your Republican candidate, I recognize the importance of ensuring that all citizens have access to affordable, high-quality healthcare. A well-functioning healthcare system is essential for the well-being and prosperity of our community. Guided by the principles of free-market competition, personal responsibility, and limited government intervention, here is my proposed plan to promote healthcare obtainability:
Increase competition in the healthcare market: Encouraging competition among healthcare providers and insurers can lead to better quality care at lower costs. I will advocate for policies that remove barriers to entry, promote transparency in pricing, and allow insurers to offer plans across state lines.
Promote consumer-driven healthcare: Empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their healthcare can lead to more efficient and cost-effective care. I will support initiatives that promote Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and other consumer-driven options that encourage personal responsibility and control over healthcare spending.
Support telemedicine and innovation: Telemedicine and other innovative healthcare delivery methods can expand access to care, particularly in rural areas and underserved communities. I will champion policies that remove regulatory barriers and facilitate the growth of telemedicine and other cutting-edge healthcare technologies.
Preserve coverage for pre-existing conditions: Ensuring that individuals with pre-existing conditions have access to affordable healthcare coverage is crucial. I will work to maintain protections for these individuals while seeking market-driven solutions that reduce overall healthcare costs.
Foster public-private partnerships: Collaboration between the public and private sectors can lead to more efficient and cost-effective healthcare solutions. I will work to establish partnerships that leverage the expertise and resources of both sectors to develop innovative approaches to healthcare delivery and financing.
Address the high cost of prescription drugs: The rising cost of prescription medications places a significant burden on patients and our healthcare system. I will advocate for policies that promote transparency in drug pricing, encourage competition among pharmaceutical companies, and ensure that patients have access to affordable medications.
Invest in preventive care and wellness programs: Preventive care and wellness initiatives can improve health outcomes and reduce long-term healthcare costs. I will support policies that incentivize employers and insurers to offer wellness programs and provide coverage for preventive care services.
By implementing this market-oriented, responsible plan, we can work together to make healthcare more obtainable for all citizens, while reducing costs and maintaining high-quality care. Your support is vital as we strive to create a healthcare system that serves the needs of our community and promotes the well-being of every individual.

These timeless values have served as the foundation for our great nation, and it is our duty to protect them for future generations. Here is my proposed plan to safeguard the Constitution:
Defend individual liberties: The Constitution guarantees the fundamental rights and liberties of every citizen. I will stand firm in defending these rights, including the freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, and the right to practice religion without government interference.
Support the separation of powers: Our Constitution establishes a system of checks and balances to prevent the concentration of power and protect individual rights. I will work to maintain the balance of power between the legislative, executive, and judicial branches, ensuring that no single branch oversteps its authority.
Uphold federalism: The Constitution grants certain powers to the federal government while reserving the remaining powers to the states. I will advocate for policies that respect the principles of federalism and protect the rights of states to govern in the best interests of their citizens.
Encourage civic education: A well-informed citizenry is essential for the preservation of our constitutional republic. I will support initiatives that promote civic education and increase public understanding of the Constitution and the principles it embodies.
Defend the rule of law: The Constitution establishes the rule of law as a cornerstone of our democratic system. I will work tirelessly to uphold the rule of law, ensuring that all individuals and government officials are held accountable for their actions and treated fairly under the law.
Appoint and support constitutionalist judges: Judges play a critical role in interpreting and applying the Constitution. I will work to ensure that judges appointed to the bench in our state are dedicated to the principles of the Constitution and committed to interpreting it as originally intended.
Protect the integrity of the electoral process: Our Constitution guarantees the right to vote and participate in our democratic process. I will champion efforts to secure the integrity of our elections and ensure that every eligible voter has the opportunity to make their voice heard.
By implementing this plan, we can work together to preserve the Constitution and the foundational principles that have made our nation strong and prosperous. With your support, we can ensure that the values enshrined in our Constitution endure for generations to come in Nevada's 21st Assembly District and beyond.
As your Republican candidate, I am committed to preserving the cornerstone of our democracy – the right to vote. Election integrity is of paramount importance, and I will work tirelessly to ensure that our elections are secure, accurate, and accessible to all eligible voters. Here is my plan to safeguard election integrity:
Enhance voter identification requirements: To prevent voter fraud and ensure that only eligible voters participate in our elections, I will advocate for the implementation of robust voter identification measures that are both secure and efficient.
Allocate resources for election security: Adequate funding for state and local election officials is crucial for maintaining the security and integrity of our elections. I will champion increased investment in voting equipment upgrades, cybersecurity measures, and personnel training to address potential threats.
Promote accessibility for all eligible voters: It is essential that every eligible citizen has the opportunity to exercise their right to vote. I will support initiatives such as early voting, mail-in voting, and expanding polling locations, while ensuring that these measures are implemented in a secure and responsible manner.
Conduct regular election audits: To guarantee the accuracy and transparency of our election results, I will advocate for routine, non-partisan audits. This process will detect any irregularities and ensure that our election outcomes are an accurate reflection of the will of the people.
Collaborate with stakeholders: Working closely with election officials, political parties, and non-profit organizations, I will seek to develop comprehensive strategies and best practices for maintaining the integrity of our elections.
By implementing this plan, we can protect the sanctity of our democratic process and ensure that every eligible voter has the opportunity to make their voice heard. Together, we will uphold the values that make our nation great and maintain trust and confidence in our electoral system.
As your Republican candidate in Nevada, I understand the importance of energy independence for our state and our nation. Achieving energy independence not only bolsters our economy but also strengthens national security and promotes environmental stewardship. Here is my proposed plan to promote energy independence, tailored specifically for Nevada:
Capitalize on Nevada's renewable energy potential: Our state is blessed with abundant sunshine and geothermal resources, making it an ideal location for solar and geothermal energy development. I will advocate for policies that encourage the growth of these industries while ensuring a balanced approach that respects the rights of landowners and minimizes environmental impact.
Support responsible development of traditional energy sources: While renewable energy plays a crucial role in our energy future, traditional energy sources like natural gas will continue to be an important part of the mix. I will work to promote responsible and efficient development of our natural gas resources, ensuring that Nevada remains a leader in domestic energy production.
Invest in energy infrastructure: A modern and reliable energy infrastructure is essential for energy independence. I will champion investments in upgrading our transmission lines, pipelines, and energy storage systems to facilitate the efficient and secure delivery of energy resources to Nevada residents and businesses.
Encourage energy efficiency and conservation: Reducing our energy consumption is a key component of energy independence. I will support policies and initiatives that promote energy efficiency in homes, businesses, and government facilities, such as tax incentives for energy-efficient upgrades and investments in public transportation.
Foster public-private partnerships: Collaboration between the public and private sectors is crucial in driving innovation and expanding our energy portfolio. I will work to establish partnerships that leverage the expertise and resources of both sectors to develop cutting-edge energy technologies and create new job opportunities in the process.
Streamline permitting and regulatory processes: Excessive red tape can hinder the growth of our energy sector. I will advocate for streamlining permitting and regulatory processes, making it easier for energy projects to be developed in a timely and responsible manner.
Educate the workforce: A skilled workforce is necessary for the continued growth of our energy sector. I will support investments in education and vocational training programs that prepare our citizens for careers in the energy industry, from renewable energy technicians to engineers and scientists.
By implementing this comprehensive plan, I am confident that Nevada can become a leader in energy independence while creating new job opportunities and strengthening our economy. Together, we can build a secure and sustainable energy future for Nevada and the nation as a whole.
Water is the lifeblood of our community, and the ongoing water crisis in our region, coupled with the alarmingly low levels of Lake Mead, demands our immediate attention. As your Republican candidate, I recognize the gravity of this situation and am committed to addressing it with effective and responsible solutions.
Nevadans have always been innovative and resilient. We should take pride in the fact that our state is among the top in the nation when it comes to water recycling. By reusing over 90% of our indoor water, we have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to conserving our precious water resources. Our efforts, however, must not stop here.
If elected to the Assembly, I pledge to champion the following actions to further alleviate the water crisis:
Advocate for increased funding for water infrastructure improvements: Aging pipelines and inefficient water delivery systems are a significant cause of water waste. By investing in modern infrastructure, we can minimize leakage and ensure that every drop of water is used effectively.
Support innovative water-saving technologies: We must encourage research and development of cutting-edge technologies to enhance water conservation, from smart irrigation systems to drought-resistant landscaping.
Strengthen partnerships with neighboring states: Collaboration is essential in addressing regional water scarcity. I will work with our neighbors in the Colorado River Basin to develop a comprehensive, long-term strategy for sustainable water management.
Promote education and outreach programs: By raising awareness of the water crisis and its potential consequences, we can foster a culture of conservation that extends beyond our state's borders. I will support initiatives that educate our community about water-saving practices and the importance of water stewardship.
Pursue responsible growth policies: As our population continues to grow, we must develop in a manner that is mindful of our limited water resources. I will advocate for policies that promote sustainable growth and minimize further strain on our water supply.
Together, we can confront the challenges of the water crisis head-on and ensure a prosperous and sustainable future for our families, businesses, and environment. Your support in electing me to Nevada's 21st Assembly District will bring our shared vision of a water-secure Nevada to fruition.
Curbing inflation is critical to ensuring the financial stability and prosperity of our citizens. As your representative, I am committed to implementing a comprehensive plan that addresses the root causes of inflation and fosters sustainable economic growth. Here is my proposed plan to curb inflation:
Maintain responsible fiscal policy: We must prioritize balanced budgets and reduce deficit spending to minimize the need for excessive money creation, which can contribute to inflation. I will advocate for policies that emphasize fiscal responsibility while maintaining essential services and programs.
Foster a competitive business environment: Encouraging competition drives innovation and helps keep prices stable. I will support policies that remove unnecessary regulations, streamline the permitting process, and incentivize entrepreneurship to create a thriving and competitive marketplace.
Support a stable and independent monetary policy: An independent central bank with a clear and consistent mandate to maintain price stability is crucial to curbing inflation. I will work to ensure that the Federal Reserve remains free from political influence and is equipped with the necessary tools to effectively manage inflationary pressures.
Invest in education and workforce development: A skilled and adaptable workforce is essential to maintaining a strong and stable economy. I will champion investments in education, vocational training, and workforce development programs to ensure that our citizens are prepared for the jobs of the future and can contribute to economic growth.
Address supply chain disruptions: Recent global events have highlighted the fragility of supply chains, which can contribute to inflation. I will advocate for policies that enhance supply chain resilience, including investments in domestic manufacturing and diversification of our supplier base.
Monitor inflation indicators and act proactively: Regularly assessing key economic indicators, such as consumer price index and producer price index, will enable us to identify potential inflationary pressures early and implement appropriate policy responses.
By implementing this multifaceted plan, I am confident that we can curb inflation and ensure the continued prosperity of our community. Your support and cooperation are vital as we work together to build a more stable and secure economic future.
As your next Assemblyman, I recognize the importance of affordable housing opportunities in ensuring a thriving, diverse, and economically stable community. To address this pressing issue, I propose a plan rooted in free-market principles, personal responsibility, and limited government intervention. Here is my proposed plan to promote affordable housing opportunities:
Encourage private sector investment: A robust private sector is essential in providing affordable housing solutions. I will advocate for policies that create a business-friendly environment, such as tax incentives and streamlined regulations, to encourage developers and investors to construct affordable housing units.
Promote local land-use reform: Overly restrictive zoning and land-use regulations can hinder the development of affordable housing. I will work with local governments to review and reform these regulations, ensuring that they are reasonable and promote diverse housing options while maintaining the character of our neighborhoods.
Support homeownership incentives: Homeownership is a cornerstone of the American Dream and financial stability. I will champion initiatives that provide first-time homebuyers with financial education and resources, as well as promote programs like the Mortgage Interest Deduction to make homeownership more accessible.
Foster public-private partnerships: By collaborating with private developers and nonprofit organizations, we can create innovative and cost-effective solutions to address the affordable housing crisis. I will work to establish partnerships that leverage the strengths and resources of both the public and private sectors.
Encourage the development of accessory dwelling units (ADUs): ADUs, such as granny flats and garage conversions, can provide an affordable housing option without significantly altering the character of existing neighborhoods. I will support policies that streamline the permitting process and remove unnecessary barriers to ADU development.
Promote financial literacy and self-sufficiency: Empowering individuals and families with the knowledge and tools to make sound financial decisions is crucial to addressing the affordable housing issue. I will support programs that provide financial education and promote personal responsibility, enabling our citizens to build stable and secure futures.
Prioritize veterans and vulnerable populations: Our veterans, elderly, and disabled citizens deserve special attention when addressing the affordable housing crisis. I will advocate for targeted assistance programs and policies that prioritize these vulnerable populations, ensuring that they have access to safe, affordable, and stable housing.
By implementing this market-driven and responsible plan, I am confident that we can create affordable housing opportunities for our community while upholding the values of limited government intervention and personal responsibility. With your support, we can work together to ensure that all citizens have the opportunity to achieve the American Dream of homeownership and financial security.
“The security of our borders is critical for the well-being of our nation.” - Dr. Jon Petrick
Our great nation, that was built on the principles of freedom and justice, now faces significant challenges that require our “ United States People over Party” collective attention and unwavering commitment.
Today, I am advocating for stronger measures to secure our borders, to protect American blue-collar workers, and to preserve the fundamental values that define us as a nation.
One of the pressing issues we must address is the influx of dangerous substances, such as Fentanyl, across our southern border. This lethal drug is not only a threat to our national security but is also poisoning our communities and, most tragically, affecting our children. We cannot stand idly by while this menace takes the lives of our loved ones. Strengthening our border security is not just about safeguarding physical boundaries; it is about protecting the very fabric of our society.
Child trafficking is another abhorrent consequence of porous borders, a crime that preys on the vulnerable and defenseless. We cannot allow the exploitation of innocent lives to continue. By fortifying our borders, we send a clear message that the United States will not tolerate such heinous crimes. Our commitment to preventing child trafficking reflects our dedication to the principles of compassion, justice, and protection of the innocent.
Illegal entry into our country not only jeopardizes our national security but also poses a threat to the livelihoods of hardworking American citizens. Blue-collar workers, the backbone of our nation, deserve the assurance that their jobs are secure and that their communities are not burdened by the consequences of illegal immigration. Strengthening border security is not an affront to those seeking a better life but a necessary step to ensure that the American dream is preserved for all who enter our great nation legally.
Our freedom, a cornerstone of American identity, must be safeguarded. A secure border is essential to maintaining the liberties we hold dear. It ensures that our citizens can live without fear, and it protects the values that have defined our nation for centuries.
In conclusion, my fellow Americans, securing our borders is not just a matter of policy; it is a duty we owe to ourselves, our children, and the generations that will follow. By addressing the flow of Fentanyl, combating child trafficking, and curbing illegal entry, we reaffirm our commitment to the principles that make our nation strong. Let us unite in the face of these challenges, standing together to protect the American way of life and the freedom we hold so dear.
Research shows that the most impactful way to improve our educational system is have parents involved. The more parents participate in the development of their children’s learning, the higher test scores, the brighter the student and an increase in valued contribution to the community.
School choice provides families with opportunities in those communities where the government school option continues to fail; by injecting competition and challenging the status quo we can create a more positive educational experience and rise form the bottom to the top.
Our laws in our state should expand the freedom to choose our child’s educational experience, not restrict it. Having the options to choose which school is best suited to a student’s needs is vital for all of Nevada’s students.
Which School or Educational Opportunity is Best for your child?
Micro schools expand the traditional educational model to better prepare children for the future. They are small institutions where parents personalize their child’s education. Micro-schools differ from homeschools because often the teacher may be hired or parents of children in the school teach the material.
Micro-schools are often described as “outsourced homeschooling.” They do not participate in the standardized testing, and mandatory curriculum that defines today’s government school system.

Homeschool is parent-directed education. Some families choose homeschool co-ops for field trips or education related activities a few times per week.

Magnet Schools are managed by the government school system and are still considered government schools but have a focus or emphasis on subject matter that traditional government schools do not offer.
A School Voucher:
A school voucher, also called an Education Voucher in a voucher system, is a certificate of government funding for students at schools chosen by themselves or their parents. Often times, Opportunity scholarships are available and are similar to a school voucher.
Opportunity Scholarship Program provides scholarships to low-income children in in Nevada for tuition and other fees at participating private schools. Opportunity Scholarship Program — the nation’s only federally funded voucher program.
The program was the first Federally funded school voucher program in the United States. It was first approved in 2003 and allowed to expire for the first time in 2009 under the Obama administration.
However, the Trump administration quietly reversed an Obama-era policy of denying vouchers to low-income students who already attend private schools, funding is usually for a particular year, term, or semester. In some states, or local jurisdictions, the voucher can be used to cover or reimburse Schooling expenses. In some states vouchers only exist for tuition at private schools.
Tuition-based education can be religious or secular. Parents often have more influence over events and curriculum because they are funding their child’s education.
A Government schools, also known as a public schools, are maintained by the taxpayer and are a government expense. Government schools are for the education of the children of a community or district and that constitutes a part of a system of free government education commonly including primary and secondary schools.
Charter schools are usually run by a non-profit organization and regulated by the Charter Authority and Nevada’s charter schools are actually a part of CCSD.
They are primary or secondary education institutions that are government schools which are governmentally funded and operate independently, rather than being overseen by local school districts.
Charter schools have a contract with local school districts or other authorizing bodies that allow them to operate. These contracts, or charters, are how charter schools bear their name. They are funded with government tax dollars, though they also fundraise independently. And they are subject to fewer rules than traditional state government schools in exchange for greater accountability. Proponents argue that they are meant to serve underserved communities that wish to have alternatives to their neighborhood school.
Only non-profit charters can receive donations from private sources, just the same as traditional government schools.
As of 2016–2017 there were an estimated 6,900 government charter schools in 42 states and the District of Columbia, with approximately 3.1 million students and since covid that number has more than doubled.
